 NEW MEMBERS We would like to extend a warm, Christian greeting to our new members! NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION CLASSES Have you just recently joined Kadesh? New Member Orientation Classes are held ever Sunday at 9:30am and 2:00pm. It is our prayer that these classes will encourage and direct your areas of interest and service here at Kadesh. Every member of the Body of Christ has an important service to render, and the Word of God teaches us that we will each be held accountable for our service. For more information, please contact Lula Williams. INTRODUCTION This page is designed to answer some of your questions about your duties and responsibilities as a member of Kadesh Baptist Church. Hopefully, you will honor, respect, and adhere to the content herein. Upon your profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and your perception of the Right Hand of Fellowship from your brothers and sisters in Christ who make up this assembly, you have entered into a covenant with God and these Saints. You have committed to support, to the best of your ability and strength, the advancement of the Kingdom of God through this body. "Missionary" means that each member has taken a concern with winning lost souls for Christ. You are the eyes and ears of the Mission leadership. When you have knowledge of a sick, bereaved, or distressed member, contact the Mission President so the church can assume its responsibilities and assist in meeting the needs of this member. Also, as soon as possible you should associate yourself in some area of Christian ministry offered by this church where you can wholeheartedly carry out the command of our Lord to work out your soul's salvation. A list of the Ministries of Kadesh is available on this site. Please be prayerful and take careful consideration when you are choosing a ministry that best suits your personality. In selecting a ministry or ministries to serve on, we ask that you have the time and commitment to give to each one. In addition to serving on ministries, you should become an active member in some form of Christian Education, i.e., Sunday School Class, Bible Study, Bible Institutes, and/or seminars and workshops that are given. It is only through Christian Education that the Holy Spirit can increase your faith. Keep in mind these are only instruments that can help you. You must carry and study your bible regularly and diligently. This will strengthen you and provide you with the necessary tools to ward off the works of the devil and demonic attacks.
RESPECT FOR WORSHIP It is important to maintain an attitude of respect in worship. Please abstain from unnecessary talking. We ask that you listen and actively participate in the worship services. We also ask that you obey the instructions of the Ushers. They are on duty to serve you and deserve your respect. During prayer, scripture reading, or the preachment, there should be no walking. By obeying these instructions, you allow the Holy Spirit to perform His work upon your heart as well as that of the other attendees without distraction.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Every member and service of this church is important to its financial stability. As a child of God, you are responsible for supporting this church by your physical presence and monetary gifts. The word "tithe" literally means a tenth and we believe that every believer should tithe to the church where they are a member. We understand from Malachi 3 that tithing is a command from God so we joyfully return 10% of what God has graciously blessed us with, understanding that all that we have comes from Him! When paying your tithes or giving an offering, please be sure to use your membership number. You have been assigned a membership number that you should record on your contribution envelopes. This will ensure the maintenance of correct records. If you have not been given a membership number, or if you do not know it, please contact Min Phyllis Foster.
DENOMINATIONAL AFFILIATIONS Kadesh is an affiliate of the Interdenominational Assembly of Churches International, Bishop Andre Sonny Woods, President and Founder. Your Pastors and many members are involved in various ministries within the Fellowship and you will undoubtedly want to take advantage of opportunities to fellowship, worship, learn, and serve in the Fellowship as well.
